GuardianMPS

I need to re-install the GuardianMPS app for a new team member. How do I Uninstall/reinstall?

            Install the GuardianMPS app.
The instructions below apply to a Samsung phone running Android version 6. We have tried to make these as bullet proof as possible but this has inevitably added a couple of extra steps. ***It is essential to follow the sequence.***

            1. Restart your phone.Do this to prepare your device for the install.
            2. Disable “Automatic Restore”.Some devices will automatically restore saved app settings from a previous installation. We don’t want this so the first thing we do is disable it. Go to phones Settings, Backup and Reset and disable the Automatic restore feature.
            3. Fetch the app. Open your Google Play Store app, search for and install the GuardianMPS app. Do not tap the green open button. Restart your phone.
            4. Set app permissions.

The app needs certain permissions to operate effectively:
            • Location so it can direct help and assistance to you.
            • Photos and media so it can let alarm responders know what’s happening around you.
            • Make and manage phone calls so it can create emergency alarm and Check-in phone calls.
            • Send and view SMS so it can direct help even when you don’t have a data connection.
            • Device Administrator so it can lock your screen and prevent an attacker disabling the app.

Go ahead and launch the GuardianMPS app and allow or grant the permissions it needs.

If you don’t see a Sign in screen then something went wrong so stop now, uninstall (see below) and install again.

            Complete these final steps.

            1. Sign in to your GuardianMPS account.
            2. Sign into the app with your cell number and GuardianMPS PIN. Tap having problems if needed. You’ll know you are signed in if the app’s red panic button screen appears. Note:
            3. Revert “Automatic Restore” to pre-install state.Go to phones Settings, Backup and Reset and set the Automatic restore feature accordingly.

            Uninstall the GuardianMPS app.

The instructions below apply to a Samsung/Android phone running Android version 6. It is essential to follow the sequence.
